Allen's Restaurant On Danforth

Upscale English pub on the Danforth with a large outdoor patio. If you go while there's a concert starting up next door, you will hear it, it's rather loud. Other than that, the food is delicious and the ambience is warm and inviting. The servers are prompt and will cater to most requests. My fave item on the menu: the fish and chips with frites (you have to ask for frites instead of the fries) yum yum. Big patio in the back with lots of seating under a massive tree and lovely evening string lighting. A great place to spend an evening with friends and family.

Wow ! I had been here once before in the summer on the patio ... and it was good. But tonight we went there to the Annual Steak Festival (our first time) and it was great ! Great staff to help you through the huge variety of bloody brilliant beef offerings ... and as expected the beef was amazing ... but so were the appetizers (steak tartare was great) and sides (double baked potato and button mushrooms) ... and this is one of fewer and fewer establishments with Guinness on tap. The whole evening was just a joy from start to finish. Again I cannot praise the staff enough ... friendly, knowledgeable and fast.
